This is Dan.

Dan Anibal is a performing singer-songwriter and pianist. Born in Uruguay his family came to the US in the early 90s. His love for music comes from an early age, singing tangos and songs as well as playing the harmonica accompanying his father who is also a singer-songwriter. He got his first keyboard at age 9 and promptly began his music studies at age 10. Classical music was introduced to him as a teenager, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, opened up a new world and by age 15 he began studying classical piano. He has been playing and writing songs from an early age, however by his late teens Dan began to polish his craft and new songs were born. These songs prompted the attention of some of his college musician friends, together they decided to start a rock band, it was named "Anibal". With Anibal, Dan recorded with Anibal some of his first songs in 2 EPS one in 2001 and the other in 2002. Anibal performed the local scene in Northern Jersey as well as having some of the songs played on local radio. After leaving the band in 2002, Dan focused on his music degree and classical piano, graduating from William Paterson University in May of 2003 with a BA in Music Studies. Later on as he found his soulmate, Dan married in 2004 and in 2007 he and his wife welcomed their beautiful boy, Landen.

Rewind a little and in early 2006 Dan was ready to get back in the studio. From February to April recording a collection of songs, and in the next few months following production, The Circus was born. It's an album with a more progressive sound fused with alternative rock. The Circus was released in the fall of 2006. With The Circus, Dan gained recognition in the Podcast shows all over the internet, Adam Curry from MTV played his song "Affliction" in his show as well as many other major podcast shows locally and throughout the world. His songs "Affliction" and "I'll stay with you" earned a top 500 spot in the Billboard World Song Contest. Dan performed with his band live in NYC, Miami and San Francisco.

Things were going well for Dan, unfortunately his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2009 and in January 2011, just over a year after being diagnosed, his wife Maria passed away. Now as a single Dad of a 3 year old and no sight towards the future, this was a dark time. But through the love and support of his Parents and family and his beautiful boy, Dan kept on going.

In 2013 Dan and his son moved to LA and there he and his band performed at his friend's Mayte Prida's Breats Cancer Foundation event. He also recorded and  worked with some amazing musicians and writers. In 2014 back in New Jersey, Dan focused once more on his other passion besides songwriting and singing, classical piano. He continued his studies with his dear friend and internationally renowned pianist, Frank Pavese. During this time Dan performed for local music clubs some of his classical repertoire as well as as accompanying and teaching.

Fast forward to 2019, Dan was inspired to get back to singing and writing. After completing a new full album demo called "Renaissance" by late summer 2020, in the fall Dan wrote a new song called Shy Love. Seeing Shy Love's potential, Dan fully produced the song with his friend and producer Diego Lopez with whom he previously worked on The Circus. That song then inspired a brand new studio album titled Take Me There. Since early 2021 Dan has been working on this studio album with a new single coming early 2022 and a full release later that same year. Dan wants to give back to music. It has always been there by his side through good times and bad, joyful ones but also through the toughest and darkest ones. By reconnecting with his passion, Dan hopes to inspire and reach out to many who long for a new sound and a new voice.
